Dwight Hinsdale was a physician in the Village of Delanson for many years retiring in 1964. He was a generous, quiet and humble man who live alone and loved to travel and meet new people. At the age of 88 he drove himself to Florida from Delanson to see the sights. He returned with a car that had a dent for every sight he saw and person he met. He then proceeded to buy a new car with cash.
The next year he again traveled cross country this time by train to see the sights.
Doc loved to sit by the fire and sip a small glass of wine and tell stories.
He died in the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center of pneumonia at the age of 90 leaving a sizable fortune to Ellis Hospital.
He left behind a sister, Edith Manroe and one nephew.
There were no calling hours. Interment was in Grove Cemetery on June 24, 1995 with a short grave side service.
