Willard Watts Harris (my mother's "Uncle Wool") was named after Isaac Watts a distant ancestor. He was the 9th and youngest child and the 3rd son of Samuel Rogers Harris and Rosalie Hicks. He was in the Student Army Training Corps in WW I. In 1926, he was living in Greensboro and was unmarried. He first married Edith Bain who was Aunt Minnie's niece (Minnie Parham Hicks). His second wife was Virginia Longmire. He never had any children.

His obituary in the paper said in part:

Willard W. Harris Dies of Stroke

Willard Watts Harris,51, native of Henderson, died at 4:45 a.m. today at his home at Deer Court Crossing at the western end of Garnett Street. He suffered a stroke of paralysis last Sunday and had been critically ill since that time. He was born in Henderson June 25, 1899, and was educated in Henderson city schools and at the University of North Carolina. He lived for a number of years in Durham, where he operated the Bentley Place service station. In 1936, following the death of his mother, he returned here to make his home with his father, the late Samuel R. Harris. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Henderson. In November 1947, he was married to Miss Virginia Longmire, who survives...Mr. Harris was a veteran of World War I.

In accordance with a request of the deceased..funeral services will be .. conducted by Rev. W. Stanley Potter, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Active pallbearers were named as follows: Henry P. Young, L.T. Harris, Walter Childs, Edison T. Hicks, Lueco R. Harris of Louisburg, B. Frank Harris, Junius Rogers and Will M. Hicks and James Cozart, both of Oxford.
