Evelyn was one of nine children in a family that held their values in the belief that if you worked hard you could achieve your goals. She was a beautiful girl with equally beautiful sisters and along with their six handsome brothers they turned heads in their small town. But modesty was the key to popularity for them. Evelyn remained close to her mother even purchasing a home just one block away where she raised her family. She even raised her niece, Caroline from birth and loved her as though she were her own. She got sick at around age 45 and never fully gained her strength back, but continued to cook for guest on Sundays and always had a fresh batch of homemade biscuits available everyday. She always managed to send a birthday card to all her loved ones even when her handwriting became so bad. Evelyn died at Nash General Hospital.
