Edna Earl "Granny" Simpson, 80, of Centreville, died Fed. 22, 2008, at Wilkinson County Health Care Center in Centreville.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today at Newman Funeral Home in Centreville, and Monday from 11 a.m. until services at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James Saddler and the Rev. Rodney Sessions officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Centreville.
Mrs. Simpson was born Aug. 22, 1927, in Amite County, the daughter of Emmette Watkin and Mattie Terilla Smith Kirkland. She was a seamstress at the William Carter Co. in Centreville and enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lonnie T. Simpson; three brothers, Aubrey, Robert and Wallace Kirkland; and two grandchildren, Clifton Randall Simpson and April Renee Simpson.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Ronnie Sessions of Petal, Pat and James Coghland of Zachary, La., Barbara and Jeff McDaniels and Gail and Rick Kimery, all of Centreville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Christine Simpson of Ruth, and Jimmy and Lori Simpson of Centreville; one sister, Barbara Tessier of Liberty; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Mathew Simpson, Ricky Simpson, Rocky McDaniels, Josh Simpson, Marlin Kimery, Roddy Sessions, Rusty McDaniels, Justin Simpson, Mickey Garig and Patrick Kimery.
Honorary pallbearers are Rhonda Gregg, Robbie Sellers, Michelle Melton, Amanda Davis, Kelly Simpson and Tesha Burt.
