BRISTOL - Rebecca (Hatstat-Ash) Gibbs passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011, from ovarian cancer.

Becky was born on Aug. 4, 1962, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of Mary Lu (Page) and the late Ralph C. Hatstat II.

She grew up in New Haven and graduated from Mount Abraham UHS in 1980. She attended Burlington College and traveled throughout the U.S. and to France and Switzerland, the last of these fulfilling the "bucket list" she made as a teen.

Her first daughter, Katherine (Kate) Emily Ash, was born Dec. 31, 1988. Kate and her mom lived in New Haven and then Bristol. Becky then met Kevin Gibbs, originally from Rockville, Conn., the love of her life, and they were married Jan. 1, 2000. Their daughter, Caroline Lydia, was born May 13, 2000.

Becky worked in various places, the last being Kimball Office Services.

Besides her husband and daughters, she leaves behind her mother of Bristol; three sisters and their families, Susan Mackin and her daughter, Colleen of Colchester, Nancy LaPierre of Chicopee, Mass., Sally and David May and their children, Page, Jordan, Miles of Cambridge, Vt.; her mother-in-law, Mary Lou Coleman of South Windsor, Conn.; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law and their children; two aunts; five cousins and their families.

Visiting hour will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011, at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, at the New Haven Congregational Church, New Haven.

Following cremation, burial will take place on Saturday, June 11, at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven.
