Aircraft flown over to the UK was 42-97298, named Slap Happy Goose, but no photo of the nose art can be found. The aircraft 42-97298 was transferred to the 303rd BG 358th Squadron on 6th May 1944, where the name Floose Goose was painted on the nose.

398th - Lowe's Crew No. 12 - 600th Squadron - Early 1944 The 398th was part of the 8th Air Force 1st Air Division during WWII and was one of many B-17 Bomb Groups stationed in England. The 398th was formed in the United States in 1943 and was stationed in Nuthampstead, England from April 1944 until June 1945.

The 398th Bomb Group flew B-17 Flying Fortresses from Nuthampstead, Hertfordshire on strategic bombing raids over Germany. The Group switched focus in the days before D-Day, when they targeted enemy positions on the Cherbourg peninsula. When the Allied had secured a foothold on the continent, missions became more tactical - supporting ground forces by weakening the enemy's ability to resupply their lines. After the war's end, the Group transported POWs from Germany to France.
