Margurete Venable Irvine was the daughter of Paul Carrington Venable and Emily Eaton Carrington of Virginia.
She married Jesse Irvine in Virgina on 4 Sept 1867 in Mecklenburg Virginia. He served in Company G, 2nd Va Cavalry, 2nd Brigade, General Fitzhugh Lee's Division, Hamptons Corps, Army of North Virginia. He died 14 Nov 1895 Campbell County, Virginia. She moved to Dallas 17 Dec 1897. (Information from Texas Confederate Widows' Pension application)

Mrs. Margert Irvine Dies at Home Here
Mrs. Margert Venable Irvine, 87 years old, died Wednesday night at the home of her neice (sic), Miss Belle Hughes. Funeral services will be conducted at the home of Miss Hughes...by Dr. William M. Anderson Jr., pastor of the Frist (sic) Presbyterian Church, assisted by the Rev. J. N. Ivy of Wills Point. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs Irvine was born in Mecklenburg County, Va., on Dec. 17 1835, and had been a resident of Dallas for twenty-seven years. She is survived by her niece, with whom she made her home, and by her nephew, John V. Hughes.
