| Birth: | Sep. 10, 1948 | | Death: | Jan. 15, 1969 |  Viet Nam Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. He was a radio operator in a platoon inserted to rescue two downed chopper pilots. The men were found dead and their bodies were being carried out when the platoon was hit by enemy fire. He radioed for help then provided covering fire for the wounded. When a hand grenade landed in the vicinity he threw his body on it to protect others from the blast. He was immediately killed. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for this action.
