ROGERSVILLE - Elizabeth Addington Webb, age 93, Rogersville died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Rogersville Care and Rehab Center.

She had an impact on the Rogersville musical community by serving as organist at First Baptist Church from 1949-1972, teaching private pupils and playing and accompanying at community events. She worked for brief periods at Parks-Belk, Cope School and Office Supply but she was chiefly a homemaker. She earned a teaching certificate at Carson-Newman College. She was one of the oldest members of First Baptist Church, Rogersville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, G.E. Webb; parents, William F. and Mary W. Addington; brothers, Francis and Bayard Addington; sister, Georgia Addington Slemons and grandson, Aaron Thomas Webb.

She is survived by her children, Charles Addington Webb, Kingsport, George E. Webb, Jr. and wife, Charlotte, Rogersville and Marilyn Webb Shadinger and husband, Richard, Nashville; grandchildren, Sylvia Shadinger Bridges and husband, Ben, James Shadinger and Andrew Webb and great-grandson, Wilson Bridges.

Funeral service was conducted Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Broome Funeral home chapel with Dr. Felix Montgomery, Nashville officiating. Graveside service was Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Music Scholarship Fund, First Baptist Church of Rogersville, PO Box 267, Rogersville, TN 37857. Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville was in charge of arrangements.
