Silas Bridgeland died yesterday afternoon at his home near Clark's Hill after a short illness. He was born in England March 6, 1826, and was married to Miss Betsy Hall March 17, 1862, the wedding taking place in this city. They began housekeeping near Clark's Hill., where the family has ever since resided. Two years ago they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. Bridgeland was a man of rugged character and was a good citizen. Besides the widow he leaves four children, Mrs. Anna Sayer, of Clark's Hill; Mrs. Cella Nicholson and King Bridgeland, of Oklahoma, and Ray Bridgeland, of Clark's Hill. One daughter, Mrs. Elma Siple died at St Elizabeth hospital last Thursday.
