There is a death record on Mar 7,1857 at Colrain for a Catherine Purrington, who was from Middleboro,MA and died of old age. Age at death for this Catherine was given as 84, which would allow for births of her children beginning in 1791. But the 1857 record could be in error (as to both date and name) and apply to Cynthia, as there is no other record for a Catherine, who came from Middleboro, in Colrain.
She was a daughter of Nathaniel Purrington (1746-1773) and Margaret (Parker) Purrington. During her minority, she was a ward of her uncle, Elder Joseph Purrington, as was her brother Seth.
Her paternal grandparents were Hezekiah Purrington Jr and Mercy Bates Purrington of Middleboro,MA.
Children: Sally Purrington Faulkner Seaver, Allen Purrington, Isaac Purrington Jr, Horatio Purrington, Minerva Purrington, Hezekiah Purrington, and Samuel Purrington.
