. . . . . . . . . . Emerald L. Morris at Pearl Harbor on USS Elkhorn. Returning to Pearl Harbor, T.H., aboard the gasoline tanker USS Elkhorn is Emerald L. Morris, radioman seaman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew B. Morris of Route 3, Rockdale. Morris entered the Naval service Oct. 10, 1950 and received his recruit training at the Naval Training Center, San Diego, Calif. Before his entry into the Navy, he was graduated from Rockdale High School and was employed by the American General Life Insurance Co. The Elkhorn has been serving in the Far East for the past six months. From Aug. to Nov. she served with units of the UN Fleet in Korean waters. And from Nov. to the latter part of Jan. she has been operating from Guam, Marianas Islands. Rockdale Reporter, March 13, 1952 . . . . . . . . . .
