Nora B. "Sis" Parson Workman Caldwell, 83, formerly of Graysville, died at 6 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2004, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, following a yearlong illness.

She was born June 30, 1920, in Richhill Township, a daughter of Charles Att and Anna Blanche Cumpston Parson.

Mrs. Caldwell had resided in Morris Township and Waynesburg for 34 years prior to moving to Center Township in 1996.

She was a member of the former South Wheeling Baptist Church at Ryerson and was a member of Busy Bee Ladies Circle at Beulah Baptist Church.

Mrs. Caldwell attended Richhill Township High School.

She was an employee at the former Greenway Manufacturing Co. in Waynesburg; a former secretary and auditor for Morris Township; and was last employed as a caregiver and home health aide for several years in Waynesburg, Wind Ridge and Cameron, W. Va.

Mrs. Caldwell was an avid professional baseball and football fan and enjoyed traveling with her family and senior citizens as long as her health permitted.

Her first husband, H. Cecil Workman, died March 25, 1998.

On January 27, 1959, she married James W. Caldwell Sr., who died August 21, 1979.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen Workman Allen of Cameron and Linda Workman Whipkey of Graysville, with whom she made her home since 1996; a son, Lloyd K. Workman of West Finely; four sisters, Helen Riley of Elkins, W. Va., Aldene Tharp of Cambridge, Ohio, Faye Morris of Wind Ridge and Nelle Jones of Warren, Ohio; two brothers, James Parson of Graysville and William Parson of Trafford; eight grandchildren, Randy Workman, John, Joseph, Charles David and James Michael Whipkey, Helen Allen Marsh, Nora Allen Throwbridge and Wendy Allen Clark; and 10 great-grandchildren.
