Bettie Booth Carr, 93 of Monticello, MS, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at her residence in Clinton, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Monticello United Methodist Church in Monticello, MS. Burial will be in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home of Monticello, MS is in charge of arrangements. 601-587-2573.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Wilson Funeral Home 9:30-11:30, 12:00- 2:00 PM at the church.
She was an active member of Monticello United Methodist Church, where she served in the choir and all other church activities.
She was a member of the Monticello Garden club where she enjoyed gardening, she was an avid reader, and a member of Mississippi State University Alumni Association. She was a secretary for 42 years, For Mississippi Department of Human Services.
She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Carr, father Issac Booth, mother Irma Polk Booth brothers Bill and Jim Booth, and sisters Vina Terrell, Mabel Magee, Ruby Booth and Amanda Hutto.
Survivors include: daughter, Janet Carr (Bill Henderson) Diamondhead, MS; son, Jimmy (Shirley Carr) Clinton, MS; sisters, Lois Booth Davis and Wilma Booth Wilson, both of Prentiss, MS; grandchildren, David Henderson, Mark Henderson, Matt Carr and 4 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to Lawrence County Habitat for Humanity, and Monticello United Methodist Church Missions.
