Federico García Lorca
Birth: Jun. 5, 1898, Spain
Death: Aug. 19, 1936, Spain

Renowned spanish-born poet and dramatist. Among his most popular works are "Romancero Gitano" (1928), "Poema del Cante Jondo" (1935), and "Poeta en Nueva York" (1940). As a dramatist, he is remembered for "Mariana Pineda" (1928), "Bodas de Sangre" (1935), "Yerma" (1937), and "La Casa de Bernarda Alba" (1940). He was murdered by fascists of Dictator Franco at the start of the Spanish Civil War in Barranco de Víznar (Granada). His body was never found.
