Susan Spearman married Asbury Bean, son of Walter Bean, and they had several children. They lived in Elk Prairie Township of Jefferson Co. south of Buzzard Roost school. Asbury died in the Civil War.
Susan Bean married widower William D. Baker on 29 Nov 1865. She and William had more children, at least two of whom survived.
She appears in the 1860 Federal Census with Asbury. It gives her age then as 31 years. Her stone shows another version giving dates 1833-1908.
Widowed a second time, she was living with her son Alonzo Baker in 1900 Federal census. Three Bean children are buried beside her and others nearby in Abner Cemetery.
