MATTOON -- Juanita B. Holmes, age 97, of Mattoon, formerly of San Antonio, Texas, passed away 7:15 a.m. Sunday, June 10, 2007 at Brookstone Estates. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with Rev. Lou Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Dodge Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Juanita B. Holmes was born July 23, 1909 at Mattoon, Illinois, a daughter of Harve and Rebecca (Patrick) Batman. She married John Ralph Holmes July 19, 1929 at Mattoon. He preceded her in death February 9, 1994. Survivors include a niece, Marilyn Hoots and her husband Dale of Mattoon. One brother, two sisters and one nephew preceded her in death. Juanita was a member of Central Community Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
