Kathryn S. "Kitty" Kyle, 75, a resident of 98 Pleasant Ave., Elkins, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 8, 2004, in Elkins Regional Convalescent Center following an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 24, 1929, in Ashland, Ky., a daughter of the late Henry Dale Sparks and Alta Maxine Crawford Sparks.
On June 27, 1953, she was married to Arnold Lloyd Kyle who survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Nancy G. Wilkes of Maricopa, Ariz., and the Rev. Trudy L. Paul of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Kitty was well known for her talent as a seamstress, work in ceramics, painting and needle work. She was a member of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church where she had taught Sunday School and was a member of the Church School Council. She was also instrumental in the making of the beautiful Chrismons that are displayed at the Church each Christmas season. She was an honorary life member of the Presbyterian Women's Organization.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. On Saturday, she will be moved to the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. The Rev. Jeff Falter will officiate and interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Memorial contributions may be made to Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, 450 S. Randolph Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241, Mountain Hospice, 1410 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250 or Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, 1175 Beverly Pike, Elkins, W.Va. 26241 in memory of Mrs. Kyle. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Kathryn S. "Kitty" Kyle. From 10 Dec 2004.
