Mr Haines was born on January 11, 1903 in Putnam county, Missouri. He was the son of Jesse and Mary Ella Kearns Haines. He was education in the Mendota, Missouri schools. He came to State Center in 1928 and worked on farms.
On August 2, 1930, he married Fern Guthman at Cincinnati, Iowa. They had always lived in State Center.
Mr Haines his survived by his wife, two sons, Wallace of State Center and Richard of Nevada; three grandchildren, one brother Woodrow of Cannon City, Colorado; and one sister, Zelma (Mrs Julius) Luoma of Kemmerer, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents.
