Edmundo Rivero
Birth: Jun. 8, 1911, Argentina
Death: Jan. 18, 1986, Argentina

Tango singer and guitar player, composer. Original name: Leonel Edmundo Rivero. One of the tango´s greatest voices. He was a studious person that began with classic music at an early age at the National Conservatory, where he studied singing and later guitar playing. He was definitively launched to fame when he was required by Aníbal Troilo to be a member of his great orchestra. In 1950 he began his career as soloist. In 1969 he opened his own tango house, the legendary "El Viejo Almacén". He was a genial singer, with a gentleman-like personality that the public remembers and admires in each one of his recordings. (bio by: 380W)
