Phillips Rites Held Sunday - Miss Amanda Isabell Phillips, 92, who made her home with a niece, Miss Minnie Barker at 103 Parker St. in Walhalla died at the residence Saturday. She had been in declining health several months and ill for a week.
Miss Phillips was born in the Long Creek section of Oconee county and was a daughter of Nathaniel and Tabitha Wilbanks Phillips. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Walhalla.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Rose Phillips Ivester of the home and Mrs. J. H. Cannon of Clayton, GA.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday by the Dr. N. Eugene Mandrell. Burial was in Oconee Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were J.H. Cannon, Jr., Horace E. Cannon, A. C. Phillips, Jr., Roy Phillips, Keith Alexander, and J. C. Abbott.
Honorary pallbearers included Jack Davis, J.C. Brown, Grover Adams, Dyar Colley, Claude Alexander and Dr. John T. Davis. Davenport Funeral Home was in charge.
