Mrs. Jean Stockmyer Owens, 101, of Prairie Village, KS, died May 15, 2011. Born in Lawton, OK, Mrs. Owens was a Presbyterian, a retired legal secretary, a member of the Hospitalized Veterans' Writing Project, and was active in the Ladies' Auxiliary of VFW Post 7900. She leaves behind many family members who loved her and will miss her greatly. Visitation will be Saturday, May 21, from 2-4, Service at 3:30, at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Dr., O.P. KS. Graveside gathering and burial at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 26, at the Gardner, Kansas, Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Our Lady of Mercy Country Home in Liberty, Missouri.
