Rev. R.C. Settle, 75, Buried April 5, 1961
The Rev. R.C. Settle, 75, died at his home in Central City Monday, April 3 at 6:50 p.m. He was a retired Kentucky Utilities employee, born in Todd County April 16, 1885 and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 5 at 2 p.m. at the Harrison Avenue Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Jack Harris, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ada McGhee of Owensboro. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Settles of Central City; two sons, Earl and Burney Settles of Central City; three step-daughters, Mrs. Letha Amos and Mrs. Lorene(?) Tatum of Central City, Mrs. Louise Johnson of Cleaton; step-son, James Latham of Owensboro; brother, Gil Settles of Louisville; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie McGhee of Clifty, Mrs. Annette Garnett, Drakesboro; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.
