Charlene R. Stoten, 81, of Knightstown, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at her residence.
Born April 10, 1922, in Columbus, she was the daughter of Virgil T. and Florence Z. (Fewell) Fortner, both deceased. On Nov. 1, 1941, she married Lowell E. Stoten, he survives.
Mrs. Stoten was a homemaker. She lived many years in Center Township, Rush County. She was a member of the Center Christian Church, where she was active in the Loyal Workers women's group.
Survivors in addition to her husband include one son, Jack L. Stoten of Rush County; one daughter, Jean A. (Mrs. Larry) John of Shelbyville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville, with Bill Worrell officiating.
Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Hospice of Decatur County.
