Mrs. Singletary was born on December 25, 1929 to the late Leslie Thomas and Lottie Mae Pittman Penfield. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Colon Singletary; a brother, Marshall Penfield and a sister Annie Ruth Drukenbrod.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 11, 2011, at Wesley's Chapel from 1:30 until 2:30 pm. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm with Rev. Robert Britt officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley's Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Singletary is survived by her daughter Gayle Johnson of Clinton; three sisters, Betty Townsend, Mable Beard and Bessie Manuel all of St. Pauls; her granddaughter, Candace Marie Butler; her grandson, James Leon Butler and wife Megan; and a great granddaughter, Hally Renee Butler.
