Annie Beata Gilbertson was born June 14, 1863 near Dodgeville, Iowa County, Wisconsin. At the age of 19 years old she came to Dakota Territory with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Gilbertson and her siblings Peter, Gina, Hannah Amelia, Gullick, and Albert. She married Hans Erickson on May 28, 1883 at Hatton, ND. They lived on a farm near Sharon for several years before moving to Moose Township, Roseau Co., MN where they took up a homestead. Mr. Erickson died in 1899 in MN. Annie and the children stayed on the land and proved the homestead.
In 1922 she moved to Montana. In 1926 she moved back to Sharon where she lived out the rest of her days. Mrs. Erickson was a quiet and kind mother. She was a charter member of the Ostervold church and one of the first members of Ostervold Ladies Aid.
Mrs. Erickson had been in poor health for a number of years, but not until 5 1/2 months ago did her illness becomes serious.
Surviving her are one son Clarence Erickson of Sharon; one daughter, Emma (Mrs. Gilbert) Reno of New Deal, Montana; 2 brothers, Peter and Albert Gilbertson and two sisters, Hannah and Gina Gilbertson all of Sharon; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her husband and three children preceded her in death. Services were held at the Ostervold church. She is buried at the Gilbertson Family Cemetery, rural Finley Township, Steele County, ND next to her daughter Cora, who preceded her in death.
