Lawyer, murder victim. She attempted to stop her abusive husband Brad Cunningham from running away with her children. On September 21, 1986, Cheryl's body was found in her Toyota van on a freeway in Portland. Brad Cunningham was convicted and sentenced to life for her murder. In 1994, author Ann Rule wrote her New York Times bestseller about the case. In 1995, a TV movie called "Dead By Sunset" was produced based on the story.
