Henry W. Aldrich was born in Jun of 1840 in Springville, Susquehanna Co, PA, the fourth of eleven children born to Isaac Gaylord Aldrich and Matilda LNU.
Henry served his country bravely in the Civil War , enlisting as a Corporal in Co K, 89th NYS Vol Infantry at Hawleyton, Broome Co, NY on 28 Sep 1861.
He fought at the battles of Camden Court House, NC, Falmouth, VA, South Mountain, MD, Antietam, MD, Fredericksburg, VA, Fort Nensemond, VA, Battery Huger, VA, Suffolk, VA, Cold Harbor, VA, Petersburg, VA and at Chaffin's Farm, VA.
He was mustered out on 20 Oct 1864 at the end of his three year enlistment period.
He married Miss Mary C. Balcom circa 1867 in Binghamton, Broome Co, NY, the daughter of Benjamin G. and Maria S. Balcom.
Mary and Henry had four children: George H., Lewis S., Mary M. and Lida Ann. George died young.
He remained in the Broome Co, NY and Susquehanna Co, PA his entire life, pursuing the trades of farmer and sawyer.
He died in 1911 in Harmony, Susquehanna Co, PA, in the seventy-first year of his life.
