Irvin J. Conrad, 78, of Dyersville, died of a heart attack, Tuesday, Oct 27, 1998, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Dramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. and a parish scripture service at 8 p.m.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1920, in Bankston, Iowa, son of William and Anna (Loutsch) Conrad.

He married Generose A. Klosterman on Feb. 12, 1945, at Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg. Together they farmed in the Bankston area for 40 years until retirement in 1981.

Irvin was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1734 and enjoyed card playing, fishing, woodworking, golfing, bowling, dancing and his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Jenny; two sons, Gary (Judy), of Dubuque, and Wayne (Diana), of Davenport; five daughters, Jean (Steve) Hoeger, of Dubuque, Sharon (Bob) Roehlk, of Bettendorf, Carmen (Ken) Jungling, of Cedar Falls, Janet (John) Connolly, of Bernard and Connie (Ed) Brecht, of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren; four sisters, Susie Eike, Marcella Recker and Alfrieda (Dick) Loeffelholz, all of Dyersville, and Helen (Walter) Klosterman, of Manchester.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John; and two sisters Angie Treinen and Viola Strief.
