Fanny May Long, 90, of Oakwood died 10:17 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born March 12, 1923 in Oakwood to the late William and Minnie (Grimes) Adams. On March 15, 1946, she married Alvin L. Long who died May 10, 2011.
Fanny is survived by three children: Steve (Beth) Long of Defiance; Rick Long of Oakwood; and Connie Singer of Defiance; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Reva Hammon of Defiance. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Curtis and Rex Adams; and a grandson.
Fanny retired from Kircher's Flowers in Defiance. She was a very active member of Twin Oaks United Methodist Church in Oakwood.
A funeral service will begin 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2014 at Twin Oaks United Methodist Church, Oakwood with Pastor Eric Daily officiating. Burial will follow in Sherman Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Twin Oaks United Methodist Church.
