Ardeth was born January 24, 1921, in Shelton, first child of John Robert and Lilly Dale Humphrey Burtenshaw. She grew up in the Shelton area where she attended elementary school, then graduated from Ucon High School. As a young girl, she helped on the family farm thinning beets and picking spuds.
She married Mark Charles Lee in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on November 21, 1941. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where they raised two children. She was a homemaker and worked part-time in various office jobs.
Ardeth was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions, including Relief Society president, counselor in the Stake Relief Society presidency, temple organist, extraction worker, and ward organist for over 40 years.
She enjoyed cooking and making bread and cinnamon rolls. She was an excellent seamstress, and also did beautiful crochet and embroidery work. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist and accompanist. She loved camping, singing around the campfire, and rock hunting with her family.
Survivors
Son Steven (Julie) Lee, and daughter Deanna (Mike) Hargis, both of Idaho Falls;
sisters, Virginia Hill of Bountiful, Utah and Afton Tew of Logan, Utah;
brother, Robert "Bob" Burtenshaw of Iona;
and 7 grandchildren
She was preceded by her parents, husband, two grandchildren, sister Vonda Bailey, and brother Clyde Burtenshaw.
Funeral Services held Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Idaho Falls LDS Parkview Ward, 2051 S. Emerson, Bishop Brad Backman officiating.
