Clara Barton Kay

Clara Barton (Yauger) Kay, 92, of Southside, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996, at her home.

She was a member of the Beech Hill United Methodist Church since November 6, 1921, and had served in various offices; was a former Sunday school teacher; member of the United Methodist Women, where she had served in all offices; was a member of the Pioneer Farm Women's Club; and a former Mason County school teacher.

Born March 25, 1904, in Beech Hill, she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Elmira (Kinzel) Yauger.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, John A. Kay; sister, Bessie Mabel Yauger; and three brothers, Roy Raymond Yauger, William Henry Yauger and Otis Lionel Yauger.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Henry A. and Wanda Kay, and Charles E. Kay, all of Southside; and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be Thursday, 1 p.m., at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with Rev. Ben Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Suncrest Cemetery, Point Pleasant.

Friends can call at the funeral home Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Beech Hill United Methodist Church, Maintenance Fund, U.S. Rt. 35, Southside, WW 25187.
