Mrs. Lois Shigley Conner, prominent Muncie woman, wife of Russell G. Conner, 818 W. North St., died at Ball Memorial Hospital early Tuesday morning following an illness of four hours. Mrs. Conner had suffered a stroke at her home and was taken to the hospital late Monday morning.
The daughter of Andrew and Bertha Clevenger Shigley, she was born in Jamestown, Ohio, coming to Muncie in 1918. Mrs. Conner was a member of the High Street Methodist Church.
She is past president of the Delaware County Federation of Women's Clubs, and at the time of her death was treasurer of the Eighth District Federation of Women's Clubs. She was a member of the McRae Club, of which she was secretary, and of the D.A.R. Mrs. Conner was also active in Red Cross work here for the past several years.
Surviving besides the husband, are two daughters, Mrs. John R. Fulton of Indianapolis, and Miss Marilou Conner of Winamac, Ind.; the mother, Mrs. A.E. Shigley of Muncie, and a grandson, Johnnie Fulton of Indianapolis.
Services will be conducted at the Meeks Mortuary at 1 p.m. Thursday, the Reverend Evan Bergwall of the High Street Methodist Church in charge. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3 to 5 p.m., and from 7 to 9 p.m., on Wednesday, or any time prior to the services on Thursday.
