Albert, Betty Brinson Clifton
Midway - Betty Brinson Clifton Albert, 79, died Friday, March 28, 2003 at Hospice Savannah.
The Effingham County native was a resident of Midway for the past 22 years and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a retired Medical Assistant for Pediatrics Associates, worked for the Effingham Herald as editor for Bill Lee for 17 years, and was secretary for the Chief of Police in Garden City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bessie Seckinger Brinson, stepson, J.M. Albert, Jr., stepdaughter, Gail Shearouse, sisters, Frances Hattrich and Bobbie Pound; and brother, Harry Brinson.
Survivors: her husband of 25 years, J. M. Albert, Sr. of Midway; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Jim Tatman of Hartford City, IN; Linda and Wyman Inglett of Savannah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles R. and Michelle Clifton, Jr. of Savannah and Frank and Jackie Clifton of Garden City; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Mickey Stafford of Ellabell and Diane and Bob May of Marietta; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Keith and Aimee Albert of Bloomingdale; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Eloise Brinson of Springfield; Frank and Merlin Brinson, Jr. of Columbia, MO, and Walton S. and Jackie Brinson of Pt. Wentworth; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel.
Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday at Union Cemetery.
