Larry was born July 13, 1946 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Benjamin Burtenshaw Jr. and Eva Augusta Martin Burtenshaw. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He married Patricia Hart. From this union was born a son, Roger Scott Burtenshaw. They were later divorced.
Larry worked as a ranch hand and farmed in the Idaho Falls area. He spent the last 25 years in Victor.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, skeet shooting, and going to Pierre's Playhouse.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Rd. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery next to his parents. Veterans rites will be performed under the direction of the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
