LYONS - Max C Lattimer, 82, formerly of Hutchinson, died May 9, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born June 14, 1928, in Lyons, Kan., to W E "Wally" and Viola Gould Lattimer.
He was a longtime Lyons resident, moving to Hutchinson in 1999. He served as a US Marine in WWII. He was a farmer and an employee for Raymond Oil Company. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1946. He was a member of First Christian Church in Lyons.
He married Betty Jo Miller March 2, 1950. She survives. Other survivors include: sons, Max C Lattimer, Jr of Sterling and Mark and Connie Lattimer of Hutchinson; a daughter Janet and Jim Sutton of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Jim Lattimer of Newton; a sister, Marian Starks of Palm Bay, Fla.; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Warren, Robert and Hubert Lattimer; sisters, Velma Heiligman, Eulela Ulrich and Faye Dressel.
Graveside service will be at 10 am Friday, May 13, 2011, at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery.
Burial in Lyons Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice House of Reno County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
