US Senator. He served in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. He was elected to the New Hampshire State House of Representatives twice, serving first from 1794 to 1804, then from 1806 to 1807. He was elected as a Senator from New Hampshire to the United States Senate, and served from 1807 to 1810.
