Mrs. Delk was born in Cammack and had resided most of her life in Gaston. She was a 1958 graduate of Yorktown High School. She was a homemaker and a professional seamstress, working from her home.
She was a member of Cammack United Methodist Church and Avondale Sympathy Club, and a past member of Delaware County Cancer Board. She also sang with the Jericho Road country gospel group.
Mrs. Delk formerly served as a clinic volunteer at Wel-Del High School and was past co-chairman of Daffodil Days for Delaware County American Cancer Society. She had been a member and president of Women's Fellowship Group at her church, a Wes-Del exhibitor leader for the 4-H Home Economics Club and for the past four years was the 4-H clothing leader. She also started the Bosom Buddies for breast cancer survivors.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, William R. Delk; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Amy Delk, Hartford City; a daughter, Mindy Delk, Gaston; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Jan Dragoo, Muncie; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty and Vernie Clock, Jr., Muncie, Lois and Harrold Oliver, Gaston, and Violet Shields, Stroh; two grandchildren, Caleb B. Delk and Amanda N. Huffman; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her parents, Vernon and Clara Harmon Dragoo, a son, Brian Dale Delk, a daughter, Sarah Gayline Delk, and a brother, Vernon Dragoo, Jr., are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, north of Muncie. Calling will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
