Born in Nebraska in May 1904 - married Cora Helen Bruner 8 March 1927 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Worked as a meatpacker in Omaha where they raised their children Ed and Byron (of football fame). The family moved west in the early 1940s, first to Marysville, California then settled in Seattle, Washington where R.E. and his brother opened Bailey Brother's Service Station in West Seattle. R.E. passed away in Aurburn, Washington in 1995 just shy of his 91st birthday.
