Hardy, Ruth A: (1921-2003);

"Memorial service for Ruth A Hardy, 81, will be at 2 p.m. today at Strate Funeral Home, with burial preceding at Mountain View Cemetery in Davenport. A longtime resident of the Davenport area, Mrs Hardy died Jan 4 in a Spokane hospital, after a period of deteriorating health.

Born Feb 8, 1921, in Spokane, she married Milton R Hardy of Davenport on Nov 7, 1942. They lived in the Coulee City area following their marriage and moved to Spokane for a period, then joined the family farming operation in the Rocklyn area about 1948. They moved into Davenport in the mid-1960s.

She had been an active member of the Assembly of God Church, where she served many years in the Women's Ministries Group and taught Sunday school. She also was active in many other church-related functions. She was well known for her cooking ability and as a cake decorator, which she did as a hobby.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1995. She leaves a son, Denny Hardy of Davenport; a daughter, Diane Henderson of Medical Lake; 5 grandchildren; ... a sister, Edith Olsen of Spokane; a brother, C W (Bud) Miller of CA, and numerous nieces and nephews." (Davenport Times: 1-09-2003)
