Sidney Melvin Repass, 75, of the Gratton area of Tazewell, died March 22 at his home.

Born at Burkes Garden, he was a son of the late William H. and Caldonia Edwards Repass.

He was a US Army veteran of W.W.II, a retired coal miner, and member of the U.M.W.A.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Shelton Repass; four sisters, Edith Bourne, Gladys Jones, May Crabtree and Grace Sparks; and five brothers, John Repass, Jim Repass, Harve Repass, George Repass and Andy Repass.

Survivors: stepson, Russell V. Turpin of Manchester, TN; sisters, Ruth Rhudy of Burks Garden, Ann Durkee of Portland, OR; brothers, Joseph (Bud) Repass of Lookout CA, Ray Repass of Rock Falls, IL; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and caregivers, Steve and Marsha Stinson.

The funeral will be conducted March 26 at 11 a.m. at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell with the Rev. Howard Edwards officiating.

Burial will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell.
