Mapel Farmer, 91, 624 W. Powers St., died Sunday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Henry County, she moved to Muncie as a young adult and had worked for some years in the cafeteria of Central High School. Mrs. Farmer was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Von Bora Women's Circle of the church.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Martha Farmer of Muncie; and three nieces, Valleta Gerkin of Peoria, Ill., Ethel Mae Hewitt of Port Huron, Mich., and Mythel Wood of Greensburg.
Her husband, Guy, died in 1953 and her son, Harold, died in 1974.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel with Rev. Stanley Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive callers at the mortuary 5-8 p.m. today.
Memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
