Michael O'Connor D. Feb 4

Michael O'Conner, father of J.J. O'Connor, died at this home in this city last Saturday, February 4, at the advanced age of 86 years, 4 months and 5 days. Mr. and Mrs. O'Connor came to Wenatchee about two months ago to make their home. Mr. O'Connor was born in Monahan County Ireland. September 29, 1818. He came to Canada in 1844, where he married ten years later. The family lived in Canada thirty four years, and from their removed to Kansas, where they have since resided until coming to Wenatchee. The funeral services were held Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in St Joseph's church. Father Colin preaching the sermon, taking the text "It is appointed unto man once to die.". Deceased leaves a wife and twelve children to morn his loss, his death being the first break in the family. Two of the sons, Jack and Mike, and one of the daughters, Mrs Crollard, reside in Wenatchee. One of the sons, Thomas, lives in Davenport, and was here to attend the funeral, as was also the son, Frank, who lives in California. The funeral arrangements were in charge of Undertaker Hall.

Note: the family lived in Canada until around 1865-1867. Therefore, thirty four years was not accurate time they lived in Canada.
