Lota Ada Williams Graves was one of ten children born to Samuel Wallace Williams and Mae Anderson Baker Williams. She was born September 27, 1889 at San Saba, Texas.
Lota married Pete Graves on September 10, 1906 in San Saba, Texas. The early years of their marriage were spent in San Saba County, Texas, but most of their married years were spent ranching and farming in the Junction, Kimble County, Texas area.
Two children were born to this marriage. One daughter, Frankie Lee Graves Smith and a son, James Douglas Graves.
Lota was a descendant of prominent San Saba County,Texas families. Several of these family members fought with Sam Houston in the Army of the Republic of Texas at the Battle of San Jacinto, when Texas won it's independence from Mexico.
Lota died at Junction, Texas and is buried in Section One of the Junction Cemetery. Cemetery records may have incorrectly entered her name as 'Lola' Williams Graves.
