Seth Blystone was the son of Peter Blystone Jr and Susanna Brinker. Seth was baptised on August 3, 1840 in St. John's Middle Luthern Church, Mt. Pleasant, Westermoreland Co., Pennsylvania.
1850 Census shows Seth lived in Ft. Wayne, Indiana with William Bolton, a farmer and his wife. He was living close to his father Peter, and his father's second wife, Ann Hackley Ferrand Blystone and her three sons. Also, three of Seths siblings; William, John Peter and Susannah.
1860 Census show he was living with his father and his fathers third wife Caroline Trovinger Foster Blystone and her two children in what is now known as Trading Post, Kansas.
April 14, 1862, Seth enlisted as a Private in "E" Company, 2nd Battalion Missouri State Militia, commanded by A. Thomas. He was wounded in the foot in the "Battle of Independance", Missouri on August 11, 1862.
Seth worked as a day laborer since leaving the service and returning to Kansas. He was receiving a pension for his wound. Pension records, National Archives, Washington D.C. show that Seth was dropped from the Pension Rolls August 27, 1883. Cause: Death. It is unknown how he died. Seth never married.
