It is believed that Alexander is actually buried somewhere in Poinsett County, Arkansas. Sometime between 1832-1834 Alexander left Rutha and nine children to be with Margaret Elizabeth Hayes. They went to Tennessee where their first two children were born then finally settling in Greenfield, Poinsett County, Arkansas where Alexander was a blacksmith. They had four other children in Arkansas. Alexander never divorced Rutha nor did he ever return to Alabama.
