Howard Hugh Geyer, 50, of Modesto died Monday at his home.

Mr. Geyer was a native of Kellogg, Idaho. He lived in Modesto 29 years. He had a 16-year career in law enforcement with the government; he was an investigator. Previously he was employed by the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of E Clampus Vitus . He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War; he belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars, Manteca.

He is survived by his wife,Karen Geyer of Modesto; son, Ryan Charles Geyer of Modesto; brother, Don Geyer of Modesto; and sisters, Dorothy Geyer and Diane Nazza, both of Spokane, Wash., Claudia Stover of Paso Robles, Donna Gladfelder of Pasco, Wash., and Delores Evans of Rathdrum, Idaho.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella. Eaton Family Funeral & Cremation Service in charge of arrangements.
