She was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Galesburg, Ill., to John and Neva Thurman Godsil. She married H.L. "Tweed" Mummert on June 16, 1950. He survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Darlos Mummert of Macomb, Ill.; one son, Thomas (Janet) Mummert of Southlake, Texas; two grandchildren, Jonathon and Katie Mummert; one sister-in-law, Jeri Godsil of Galesburg, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jack Godsil.
Mrs. Mummert taught at the Western Illinois University Lab School for 10 years and worked at the Western Illinois University business office for 15 years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Macomb and the University Women at WIU.
She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and taught Bible school at the First Christian Church.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the First Christian Church in Macomb, where visitation will be held 1 1/2 hours prior to the service. The Revs. Althea Alton and Terry Foland will officiate. Cremation has been accorded. Private burial of ashes will be held at Oakwood Cemetery.
