Obituary:
Mrs. Edith H. Barton, 91, of Crystal Spring, died at her home on Wednesday, September 10, 1980, after an extended period of illness. She was born July 29, 1889, in East Providence Township, a daughter of the late William H. and Mary Amanda (Bottonfield) Mellott. She was married to Bruce H. Barton who preceded her in death on March 14, 1963. Surviving are the following children: Hazel B. Brambley, of Star Route, Breezewood; M. Leone, wife of John A. Remsburg, of R.D. 2, Warfordsburg; Bernard C. Barton, at home; B. Jane, wife of Harold Gipe, of Chambersburg; and Shirley E., wife of Ralph L. Remsburg, of R.D. 2, Warfordsburg. Twelve grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by an infant son and nine brothers and sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Barton was a life long member of the Gapsville Christian Church. Funeral services: Saturday, September 13, at 2 p.m. at the Union Memorial Church, with Rev. M.W. Nesselrodt officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Conner-Dalla Valle Funeral Home in Everett on Friday from 4 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
