Austrian Actress Singer. She started her career with studies at the Academy of Art of Vienna, followed as a soubrette and a contract at the Vienna Volksoper, then moved on to the Raimund-Theater and also engagement at the Carl-Theater. In 1929 she was performing at the theater in der Josefstadt. In 1938 in Paris, she made the Film "Le Drame de Shangai" ("The Shanghai Drama") for G.W. Pabs, with music by Ralph Erwin and lyrics by Louis Poterat; her first husband Hans Thimig was her co-star. She created there the Chanson "Toi l'inconnu dont j'ai revé" and three more songs. After returning from Paris, she opened with an Operetta "La Parisienne" with Elfriede Datzig. On May 18, 1957 she was awarded the Golden Medal for Merit by the Republic of Austria. On March 21, 1962, she was given the title of Professor then taught at the Vienna Conservatory and until her retirement, at the Vienna Music Academy. She made 25 Films from 1932 to 1957.
